Information You Submit
Search Terms
A name, location, or other term entered into a search box is transmitted to the outside provider that operates that tool. Carteret County Released Inmates does not store or log those search terms on its own system. The provider's policy and terms govern its handling of the query.
Messages
If you send an email or submit a contact message, we retain the information needed to read and answer it. We do not share that message outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law.

How Information Is Used
Collected information supports the operation and improvement of the service. It may be used to:

Other Websites and Advertising
Links may lead to Carteret release records, Sheriff and NCDAC pages, court or federal portals, and outside search tools. Once you leave this site, the destination's privacy notice controls what it collects and does with information.
Advertising partners may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and select targeted advertising. That tracking occurs under the partner's practices, not as a record maintained by Carteret County Released Inmates.

We do not sell personal information. Limited information may be provided to:
- Search partners that process a submitted query
- Analytics vendors that measure site use
- Advertising networks that deliver or assess ads
- Law enforcement or another government body acting under a valid legal order
Security Measures
Reasonable, commonly used safeguards help protect information in our control. No internet connection, storage system, or security practice is guaranteed to prevent every loss, breach, or unauthorized access. We therefore cannot promise absolute security.
Visitors Under 18
This service is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a parent or guardian believes a minor submitted information, contact us so the material can be reviewed and deleted where appropriate.
